Students under age 18

The Coeur d'Alene Summer School of Piping and Drumming is committed to the teaching of developing pipers and drummers, especially young people. Unless a parent or legal guardian is responsible for them after class hours, students under age 18 must reside in the dormitory and be on the NIC meal plan.

Special rules apply to those for whom the CSSPD is acting in loco parentis:

  • Curfew: students must be in their rooms by 10:30 p.m., when their card-keys will be collected by the dorm proctors. Lights-out is at 11:00 p.m. Students who leave the area of dormitory outside class hours must document their destinations on the sign-out sheet in the dormitory lobby.

  • Parents must provide a signed copy of the medical release form. This form must be mailed in with the registration or sent with the student to the school. Students must have this signed form on file with the school administration to register on the first day of the school.

  • An exception to the curfew may be made by the school administration on the night of the Jig and Hornpipe contest, which may run to later in the evening. Specific instructions will be made during the school on this point.
