Instructor recitals and student competitions are important components of the student's experience. At the competition, held the last day of the school, each competitor receives a critique sheet on his or her playing. Another highlight is the Jig and Hornpipe competition at the Fort Ground Tavern, open to senior amateur and professional players. During the week, the Macrae Cup Amateur Piobaireachd contest will be held. The winner of this event will receive the trophy and scholarship for the 2008 summer school. Other promising students will be selected by the faculty to receive additional scholarships for the 2009 school. |
